Originally from Akron, Ohio, Amy Klainer moved to Baltimore in 2007 to earn an MFA in Studio Art/Jewelry & Metalsmithing from Towson University. After completing her degree, she worked as an adjunct professor at TU, teaching both jewelry and 3D digital design. During this time she also held the position of production manager at Megan Auman Art/Design.
Amy has held the position of Form & Space Studio Manager in the First Year Experience department at Maryland College Institute of Art since 2016.
She has shown work in both gallery and trade show settings. Galleries include: Heidi Lowe Gallery in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; Velvet daVinci in San Francisco, California; and Gallery 2052 in Chicago, Illinois. Retail/wholesale shows include: the Buyer’s Market of American Craft, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; the American Craft Council Show, Baltimore, Maryland; and Charm City Craft Mafia’s Holiday Heap show, also in Baltimore.
Amy is an artist member at the Hamilton Art Collective | Hamilton Gallery in Baltimore, Maryland where she makes her work and exhibits it monthly.
