My work is about connections - connection to the world around me, to myself, and to the wearer. The components and surfaces found in my work are referential of those found in public utility systems, construction equipment - systems used for building both physical and interpersonal connection. My jewelry is comprised of individual steel hand sawn and/or welded forms, which are then assembled into larger constructs. These components become markers for time spent as a maker and afford me a connection to time's passing. When worn, connection is formed to the wearer as they assert their identity through the object, assimilating part of my aesthetic as their own.
